1 Bedroom Budget In 3 Different Design Styles

POSTED BY DECORIST EDITORIAL TEAM

The Bedroom Design Budget: $5,000

While most of people would love to be able to do a bedroom makeover with no budget limits, we at Decorist HQ actually think the best designs come from smaller budget projects - having to make smart choices pushes clients to be clear about what's most important to them and designers to be creative to make the most impact from their client's budget. We love these 3 bedroom projects because they not only show the range of design styles but also how far each designer made $5,000 go for their clients.

The Calm Traditional Oasis

This client just bought her first home and loved the New England Cape-style details that came with it. For her master bedroom, she wanted a traditional look but with a bright, coastal feel. Decorist Classic designer Laura Beth pulled a color palette inspired by the beach, with light sand and neutral tones accented by blues and wood tones. The biggest splurge in the room? The oversized and comfy armchair in a crisp vintage ticking stripe slipcover, a perfect place to curl up with a book.

The Masculine Retreat

This client realized that his bedroom had turned into a storage space, an overspill area for his closets and makeshift workspace, a far cry from the organized and uncluttered retreat he had in mind when he bought the place. Decorist Classic designer Samantha Piane took several design elements from his inspiration photos of luxe and monochromatic hotel suites: textured wallpaper to add visual interest and depth, a sleek platform bed in acacia wood with cantilevered shelves, and vintage-inspired pendant lights. Luxe hotel style, every single night.

The Bohemian Love Nest

This client described her style as "desert plants, Art Deco, 1970s rock and roll" and asked Decorist Classic designer Emily Johnson for a "whimsical love nest" (how could you not love that?).SInce the room isn't large, Emily kept the overall color palette light to make it feel more spacious and to showcase her client's art collection. Vintage-inspired accessories throughout the space help create the overall bohemian vibe. One key new addition: the 1960s-inspired mid-century modern dresser made from American walnut  - even bohemains need extra storage space.
